Senior Director, Global marketing

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Global Hollister Marketing is responsible for the overall Hollister Ostomy strategy worldwide.  This includes defining clear positioning, pricing, promotion plans, product portfolio decisions and channel strategies for the Hollister product lines to grow  revenue and profitability.  

This individual will work directly with local Commercial Leadership (GM, Sales, Marketing) and is expected to have significant customer interaction.

They will also work cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Quality and other functional teams to ensure that Hollister has a steady cadence of new product launches and that the future product pipeline is strong.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the Global Hollister Marketing Team with a particular focus on associate capability building and development

  • Build the capabilities of Hollister marketing team members in order to build a strong bench of talent for both GMO as well as the country/local marketing team.

  • Ensure product ownership is defined and implemented globally for each Hollister product category.

  • Provide strategic direction to local commercial business units via a dotted line reporting relationship; communicate product line strategy throughout the organization, with particular emphasis on Regional General Managers, Country Managers, Marketing Directors and Marketing Managers.

  • Proactively manage all performance expectations and assessments for the team; conduct annual career development sessions and develop/succession planning activities for the team.

Create and oversee the execution of marketing strategies; ensure best practices are leveraged in local markets according to unique needs

  • Ensure that effective market analysis, needs identification, and competitive analysis is conducted in all relevant regions as input to the global Hollister strategy development. Provide leadership and integration to the efforts of the divisions and functional groups in this area.

  • Participate on the Marketing Leadership Team (MLT) providing guidance and insights that will lead to strategic alignment across all markets.

  • Oversee creation of the Annual Marketing Plan (AMP), including all inputs for Hollister brand, and that the AMP flows through to local level for implementation.

  • Serve as the point person for the Hollister business in key strategy and operational reviews, management meetings, and customer events.

  • Monitor on an ongoing basis sales performance and local marketing and selling best practices, to assure global program implementation, evaluate effectiveness of new product launches, and improve performance worldwide by sharing best practices.

Define product portfolio needs and drive programs to fill gaps

  • Identify and prioritize new products; facilitate decision to develop internally or source externally. Provide leadership, direction and management to the global marketing team and new product development resources.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure that Hollister brand has a strong future product pipeline.

  • Work closely with operations to understand and sponsor capital expenditure projects (timing, size, scope, technology, location, etc.).

Partner with Global R&D and Corporate Development functions to develop internally and/or acquire from the outside new products to fulfill the global Hollister product and marketing strategy

  • Drive internal Hollister product development to develop and optimize the product portfolio.

  • Lead/participate as part of an acquisition team to identify potential acquisitions, conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions and develop integration strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years of overall business experience, with at least 7-10 years of marketing, primarily in the medical device or healthcare arena.

  • Previous Sales or Sales Management experience preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree. MBA preferred.

  • Experience in developing innovative strategies for and driving the execution of strong top-line product sales growth.

  • Demonstrated quantitative analysis skills.

  • Strong strategic marketing skills including experience in the development of marketing plans, product launch and campaigns.

  • Demonstrated success in working within a global marketing function as well as working with business units or distributor local marketing team; strong cross-functional relationship management skills.

  • Strong global and regional market understanding.

  • Experience managing people and technical resources in a direct and matrix capacity.

This position is based in Libertyville, IL with an onsite requirement of 4 days in office weekly.

The travel requirement is 33-50% domestic and international.
